GCSE Results Day - What Next?

Date Posted: 24th August

Results Day can sometimes mean choices have to be made.  The Marches Careers Hub website has resources to support young people in understanding the labour market and career opportunities. It offers free access for young people and parents to the Start Profile platform which provides information on our area’s key labour market sectors, as well as the range of different pathways young people can take to move into their desired career.

Apprenticeships and T Levels provide young people with a great opportunity to earn whilst they learn. These are available at a range of different levels across a wide variety of professions and, for those who would like to gain practical experience in addition to the theory, these are a great option.  Apprenticeships are available from Level 2 right up to master’s degree level, so there is something for everyone. Within the Marches we have a great range of opportunities, so young people should consider all their options and explore the range of apprenticeships available too.

Within our schools there are dedicated careers leads that are on hand to provide expert advice, support and guidance. These teams are dedicated to supporting young people in finding their next best steps and, for anyone unsure of their options, it is recommended that they make contact with their school careers team who will be able to signpost them to the wide variety of support available.
